In order to get started with your rotary swap you’ll need to assess a few things. For me, I knew I wanted a turbo build, so I elected for the, at the time, cheaper option of a S5 Turbo II. There are some known weaknesses in the S4 engines, so I opted for the thicker dowel S5.
As a part of the swap, at its most basic it’s:
- Getting the engine in the car
- Attaching the engine to a transmission
- Wiring
- Cooling
In the following sections, we will address the simple forms of the above, and some of the challenges you will face as a part of the swap.
